I can go to Amazon and play Trailers for movies on the site but cannot play the movies themselves. It is odd to me that Trailers will play but not the movies themselves. This has Chromium 67.0.3396.87 by default. Is there another step to take to get Amazon videos to play in Chromium. Thanks ahead of time!

It might help if you explain what happens when you attempt to play a video.

Apologies for not including that information to start with.

When I click to play an Amazon Video (in Chromium), it first flashes a black screen up for the video background, then adds the "splash background" to the screen with the "spinning wheel" like its thinking. After a few seconds a box pops up that says "Video Unavailable" "Were experiencing a problem playing this video. For assistance, please go to www.amazon.com/dv/error/7031." with the option to close the player or click the link. Closing goes back to the regular screen, while clicking the link goes to a separate screen. The error screen says to either update Chrome or close other tabs.

I should note that refreshing doesn't help with video playback and neither does playing straight from a fresh system start-up.
My system works the same. I assume it is because trailers and previews don't need no stinking DRM, but once you want to look at the real thing the application demands your credentials.

For me neither firefox or chrome has widevine loaded, so they say error, you don't have the right to look at this video.

Mine works fine as long as I have Chromium v67 installed and ran the chromium-widevine package on the first page. You can't run an update/upgrade unless you lock v67.

Well this is my big mystery as if I follow knuxyl's steps I get an error because his widevine pkg is 63 and chrome is 67. So I have to reload chrome 63 then follow his steps and then upgrade to Mikerr's chrome 67, but the last time I did that, it complained that widevine was the wrong version and would not use it. So I'm doing something out of sequence that is like stepping on myself... OUCH!

I guess I'll eventually get it right, so I'll just try again.
As I recall, I started with v63 and installed the widevine package. It installed ok, but after I did the Chromium upgrade to v67, it wouldn't stream an Amazon video. I had to reinstall the widevine package again.

If I get a chance, I'll try the install again from scratch to verify this.

The repositories now have 53,63 and 69
but versions 68 and 69 don't work on the tinkerboard !

67 is still available in my tinkerOS plus image preconfigured for netflix etc

[edit] uploaded  67 ( chromium_67.0.3396.87-1~deb9u1_armhf.deb ) here:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1qxYIvp...90cLHvCSTp

install it like this:

Code:
sudo dpkg -i chromium_67.0.3396.87-1~deb9u1_armhf.deb

then stop it updating:

Code:
sudo apt-mark hold chromium

Tinker fun: not.

linaro@tinkerboard:~$ cd Downloads

linaro@tinkerboard:~/Downloads$ ls
chromium_67.0.3396.87-1~deb9u1_armhf.deb  tinker
opera-stable_55.0.2994.59_amd64.deb
linaro@tinkerboard:~/Downloads$ sudo dpkg -i chromium_67.0.3396.87-1~deb9u1_armhf.deb
dpkg: error: dpkg status database is locked by another process
linaro@tinkerboard:~/Downloads$

Ok, I seem to have a problem, probably all of my own misunderstanding. I recieved this error, than I marked the package chromium_67.0.3396.87-1~deb9u1_armhf.deb usable by anyone and it still won't work.

I guess the problem must be dpkg?
There's a typo in sudo dpkg -i chromium_67.0.3396.87-1~deb9u1_armhf.deb, the "~" should be an "_"

BTW I think we're barking up the same tree, I can't get Netflix to work. I've tried the directions for installing Widevine and launching User Mode, the pre-built version that has Netflix working (..but not for me), every version of Chromium and TinkerOS. If you get it working please let me know how you did it.

Thank you very much,

I have a Tinker-S.
I wonder if there could be a difference between the Tinker and Tinker-S?

My program is loaded on the 16 GB eMMC. Is it possible that those who have a working Netflix are running from an SD card?
I have the original version (non-S), using a Sandisk Ultra 32GB. My two theories are:

1. Chromium 67 is no longer compatible with Netflix. As I'm sure you've found out, Chromium 69 doesn't work with TinkerOS. Also the Netflix Error Code I get is "...P7" which a Google Search says a "Chromebook Update" is needed.
2. Widevine 63 no longer plays nice with Chromium 67. I've tried but can't find a Widevine 67. I've also tried every imaginable combination detailed in this thread of installing this before that, that before this and upgrading, etc.

What I find most interesting is that the Tinker OS 2.0.7 Plus Version with Chromium 67 pre-configured for Netflix doesn't work. I also tried modifying /usr/share/application/chromium-user.desktop to say Chromium 69 with no joy.
I got it to stream Amazon Prime and Netflix. It is the widevine package on the OP. I'll upload the new widevine package to my Github page later. I've got to go, but I should have it up in a few hours.
