when i try to change it by pavucontrol.....it says "connection to pulseaudio failed automatic retry in 5s".
some where on web, i dound pavucontrol needs pulseaudio for proper functioning. pulseaudio is not able to run as it also error out.
Any clue on this.
Have you tried this?
For those who are reading this with no sound in TInkerOS Debian v1.9.
It took me awhile to get it working. I am using HDMI to a TV and want HDMI audio output.
I learned you need to have a audio player running for the selection to change to the Rock Audio to appear in the GUI.
Sound using HDMI worked. It was set at install on the USB Audio.
I couldn't see it. It was gone. I ran smplayer and it appear in the first window of the pulse audio GUI the Play Back Tab.
This one can cause some stress. I had to change it from the USB to the Rock Audio. Don't know if it was me only or every one else has this behavior.
I use the smplayer while it is running an audio file.
Menu>sound and audio>Pulse Audio>Playback tab>Mpv Media Player>change to Rockchip hdmi or headset out for a line out plug
Using vlc
Menu>sound and audio>Pulse Audio>Playback tab>vlc>change to Rockchip hdmi or headset out for a line out plug. VLC audio isn't good. It brakes up.
Running Chromium with youtube running
Menu>sound and audio>Pulse Audio>Playback tab>chromium>change to Rockchip hdmi or headset out for a line out plug
Running firefox with youtube running
Menu>sound and audio>Pulse Audio>Playback tab>firefox>change to Rockchip hdmi or headset out for a line out plug
This only appears when an application is streaming audio. Then that streamer will appear in the Playback Tab.
I would asume that the Recording Tab will require an active recording stream for it to also appear. Then the audio device select can happen.
If you run an application that doesn't show in the playback tab, that is a worse problem like sonic pi.
I would think everyone should have this same issue with tinkerOS running on a Tinker Board. But, we don't have the same video monitors.
We all have the same Tinker Board.
We all bleed the same blood
