Full Version: Is the 3.3v pin (GPIO pin 17) controllable?

I connected fan on pin 17 and ground. If it possible to turn power on/off on this pin so I can controlled the fan?

No, the pin 17 is power. It can't be switched off programmatically. To control the fan it must be connected to an gpio pin BUT only over a transistor. Because current consumption of a fan can destroy the pin if it is connected directly. I havn't found information of maximum current of the gpio pins, but I assume that it is as on other soc about 2...3mA.
