CPU only shows 1 core by using 'htop', anything wrong whit that?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I rebuilt kernel, maybe duo to the .config file. I plan to extract correct .config file from v2.07 and rebuild again to see if it's going to be normal again.

Hello,

Just confirmed a crash 'Temporary failure in name resolution' after using new kernel built from the current source code. Please check this issue and found some errors during compiling the driver directives. Please check this issus.

Thanks a lot

Link to download?

The link on this thread "TinkerOS_Debian V2.0.7" points to "dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/Embedded_IPC/TinkerBoard_S/20180622-tinker-board-linaro-stretch-alip-v2.0.7.img.zip" - but no actual download is presented.

The link for 2.0.7 for "Direct download" in the 'OS images to download ' thread is dead - nothing happens when visiting link, no actual download is presented.
The link for "Downloads" to the ASUS site is also junk - it only shows up to version 2.0.5

Thanks!

Both direct links work for me here ( in the UK - where are you located ? )

Yes, the Asus driver section download was still showing 2.05 earlier today, but shows 2.07 when I checked just now

With regards to this link:
https://github.com/TinkerBoard/debian_kernel/releases/tag/2.0.7

I see that there are two sourcecode files listed (one a zip, the other a tar.gz).

I notice that they appear to be backups of the 2.0.7 kernel.

Does this mean that if for instance I downloaded the *.tar.gz, and un-tar'd it
Code:
wget https://github.com/TinkerBoard/debian_kernel/archive/2.0.7.tar.gz

Code:
tar -zxvf debian_k*.tar.gz

That I could rebuild the kernel on the tinkerboard using :

Code:
sudo apt-get install git-core gitk git-gui gcc-arm-linux-gnueabihf gcc-arm-linux-gnueabi device-tree-compiler mtools parted libssl-dev bc

Building image:
Code:
$ cd debian_kernel
$ make ARCH=arm miniarm-rk3288_defconfig -j4
$ make zImage -j4
$ make modules 4 -j4
$ make rk3288-miniarm.dtb -j4
$ make dtbs -j4

Replace the kernel image:
Code:
sudo cp arch/arm/boot/dts/*.dtb /boot/
sudo cp arch/arm/boot/dts/overlays/*.dtb* /boot/overlays/
sudo cp arch/arm/boot/dts/overlays/README /boot/overlays/
sudo scripts/mkknlimg arch/arm/boot/zImage /boot/$KERNEL.img

I guess what I'm asking for is how would I build / rebuild the kernel directly on the device as the wiki only shows for CROSS_COMPILE

thanks as always for your time

Hi,

Re-burning the image maybe is the best way while forcing an update may make mistakes. (Truth: There is not a direct way to upgrade between two version, at least the apt-get dist-upgrade command is unavailable)
