Mikerr`s OS 2.0.8 & (netflix-)chromium..
#1
Good evening,
i use enthusiastically TinkerOS 2.0.8 in the
version modified by Mikerr.

Today I installed this OS at a friend who doesn't need Netflix.

Is it possible to remove the update brake
that Mikerr programmed for (Netflix-)Chromium,
so that Chromium is back at the update process with
- sudo apt-get update, upgrade, dist-upgrade?

Greetings
Karl

You should be able to unlock the package with Synaptic Package Manager.
Menu -> Preferences -> Synaptic Package Manager
Search for chromium. It should show up as red. Select the package and select the 'package' menu item. Uncheck the the 'Lock Version' box.

Hello SurferTim,
thank you for answering.

I did what you adviced to do.
But there is nothing red.

The checkbox left of chromium is green as you can see from the attached screenshot.

How to proceed?

That is a bit unusual. I would try removing chromium and reinstalling it.

Maybe Mikerr has a better plan?

TinkerOSplus holds chromium at version 67 because of problems with later versions.

To unhold, this will do it.
Code:
sudo apt-mark unhold chromium chromium-widevine

then an apt-get upgrade
[edit]
Unfortunately that brings in 72.0 which doesn't work on TB ! So keep the hold.
