Flint OS for tinkerboard v0.1 (Chromium OS)
#1
Hey All!

It took a bit longer than anticipated due to work on our other platforms but we have a image of Flint OS ready for the Tinkerboard!

It is running on the latest stable chromium OS r58 and 1080p works great on youtube. Performance as a desktop OS is great i'm using it solidly all day for work with no issues.

It seems there are issues with running on non 1080p monitors which ive noticed other OS for the tinkerboard are currently having.

Let us know what you think and report any bugs. You can find the download here

Cheers
Will

Thanks a lot for sharing. Does ChromiumOS have support for android apks? I've never used it but i heard a while back they were going to implement that. If so, this would be one of the leading operating systems for the Tinker Board, especially for emulation.

Worked ok for me and automatically detected/paired a bluetooth keyboard from my NexDock,
which was great - I later connected a USB keyboard, also worked, but now it won't revert back to bluetooth....

It doesn't seem to detect hdmi resolution correctly - I did manage to manually correct this via the settings icon,

but this setting is lost again on rebooting...

Despite those minor problems, performance seems great - much better than the pi3 version !

Thanks for trying guys!

The HDMI resolution seems to be an issue with the Asus kernel, we're planning to use the chromium kernel going forward and hope this fixes the HDMI resolution issues.

Bluetooth as well we are hoping is an issue with using the Asus kernel vs the Chromium Kernel, although since starting Flint OS we have realised how messy Bluetooth support can be and almost no device is perfect.
