Other OS - ChromeOS, Android ?
#1
Asus have just the Debian image up at the moment - the Kodi image disappeared (I don't have a copy)

As for other OS:

The Tinkerboard shares its CPU/GPU config (RK3288 / Mali T760) with a few other devices, so it may be possible to use the OS images from them with tweaking:

Asus Chromebit - ChromeOS

Asus Chromebook Flip - ChromeOS, but Kali Linux also available here: http://docs.kali.org/kali-on-arm/kali-li...ebook-flip

GPD XD gaming tablet - Android - review: http://www.retrocollect.com/Reviews/hard...ablet.html

There are recovery images floating around for chromeOS - not tried them on tinkerboard yet.

The loss of the kodi image is no big deal for me but in anyone wants it just install Debian then in an xterm window,
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
sudo apt install kodi

As for other OS:
I have had Arch Linux running but I don't have the drivers for the WiFi/BT module so that bit doesn't work,
Looking forward to Asus releasing the latest U-Boot and Kernel configs so I can get Ubuntu running.

Hello!

We are a little community-project with a Linux Mint-based A/V-System with MATE-DE for creative multimedia production under linux:

http://mayastudio.tumblr.com/64bit

We planned to make a special edit just for the rasberry pi as we found now your great new Tinker Board and think that the hardware specifications are much better for our project: To make a special and lightweight - but powerful A/V-Distro for Tinkerboard.

Could you please help us with some informations or data to recompile a kernel for our distribution:

Is it possible to get special firmware and everything else we need or are there Ubuntu-compatible Kernel sources?

As Linux Mint based on Ubuntu and Ubuntu on Debian - i think it could be nice and easy to make QStudio64 running on Tinker-board!?

Also the MATE-DE is lightweight and could be running smooth with it.

We plan to make a special multimedia-edit with great open-source-apps for A/V - specially harddisk-recording, and i think that some more distributions for your board could hype it too!?

So it would be great to have a little cooperation or getting help to keep it running.

Some questions more:

- Is the tinker-board availale for open-source-projects like the Raspberry Pi and maybe commercial-use (reselling as a daw, etc.)
or are there some restrictions or limitations?

- Which AD/DA-Converter works on Tinker-board and what is with its quality?

- As i understood the specs: the tinkerboard just supports 32bit-architecture and no 64bit

- What have we to know to recompile a kernel specially for Tinker-Board under Ubuntu/Linux Mint - or should we better use your Debianimage instead?

Are you planning to give drivers for your board to the Ubuntu-kernel-developers, so that maybe in the future it is more easy to use your Board on different Ubuntu-based-Distros or is there a good (Ubuntu-)Kernel for the hardware also?

I think the Ubuntu-Mate-Project could be interested in this too- they made a special Raspberry Pi-Version.

So hey- thank's for the great Tinker-Board as a new feature for future diy-hacking.

And thank's for some answers.

best regards,

Chalee

Hello,

does anyone still have the Kodi OS image anywhere? Why was it removed? Was the functionality that bad?

Regards,

Tom

 Hi, brianw.

I'm attempting to run Arch linux on my tinker board but I have no success.
Please, can you explain me how you have done?

Have you tried to install the "firmware-veyron" package, to get WiFI/Bt module working?

Hey

We're looking at getting Flint OS (flintos.io) up and running on the tinkerboard but really struggling to find the information required to do so.
Tried contacting Asus but no luck.

A device tree source or blob would be useful if anyone has seen one floating around!

Flint OS is now available for firefly rk3288, how much work is left to have it work on Tinker board?

The WiFi chip is different.

Tinkerboard might work with ChromeBit OS~ anyone manage to download it? Cool
