Has anyone tried some really heavy duty (compute and memory requirements) software on the Tinker? I've installed the 3D graphics package Blender, plus Audio/Video synthesis (etc.) systems Supercollider and Pure Data. I haven't had the chance to really put these through their paces, but they all at least start up. It might be interesting to see how usable such software is, given that we're only talking about a tiny little board.

Blender works well out of the box with the latest image. OpenGL seems accelerated. If you are looking to stress test your Tinker Board then I suggest you download this 3mb Blender test file, open in Blender and hit F12 to render it:

It's rendering now, but CPU temperature has gone up to 75 and appears to still be rising. I'll stop it if it gets much higher. EDIT: Gone back down to the 60s.
I think it's going to take hours to render this picture. Still, even if rendering has to be done on another machine, it's still useful to be able to edit on the Tinker.

The CPU speed may be throttled down to prevent an overheat condition. Try a fan.

Three hours later, and it's finished.
